UFO Sightings Weekly is a directory of the best worldwide news reports regarding UFO's, unidentified aerial phenomenon, unidentified submerged objects and suspected alien sightings. We discard the obvious guff to present only the most compelling of UFO cases. It is also possible to submit a sighting for vetting directly via the website "Report a Sighting"
A YouTube video from Diego Santos has been posted showing a glowing object floating over Mooca District of São Paulo, Brazil, on 8 August 2021.
In the clip we can see this brightly lit object fly over the sky of Mooca, the quick thinking witness pulled over his car and managed to filmed the UFO moments before it apparently deploys two smaller objects.
Analysis
If it weren't for the shape of the object, this could be explained by a Chinese lantern dropping some burning fuel. It may of course be an unusually shaped lantern, possible designed to provoke a UFO sighting!
A commentator rightly asks "Why would anyone stop recording if a UFO, potentially an Alien Space Craft was doing that in front of them?"
A witness says he filmed a strange fast-moving object on his security CCTV camera over Isla Cristina, Andalucía, Spain, August 2021. The sighting has been reported to MUFON.
The witness states "I was in the living room managing the security camera with a Wi-Fi connection previously installed on the roof of the house. I turned on the infrared lamp from the laptop in the device software a few minutes later I saw an object passing by at high speed so I started recording the video. I was able to follow the trajectory of it by controlling the software."
Analysis
This could be an aircraft, but where are the strobe lights? Probably too fast for a satellite. Possibly a bird or insect caught in the security IR lamp?
"SuperSup Nguyen" has posted an interesting video on YouTube showing a strange light formation moving or changing in the night sky over Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand 14 July 2021.
SuperSup Nguyen says "This cluster of UFOs was captured on John Burke Drive, Porirua, New
Zealand on 14th July 2021 looking toward the south east direction. From
the distance, i guess they were somewhere down the south island. This is
not the first time i see the similar source of lights in this
direction."
These strange lights are eerily similar to lights seen in the same town nearly a year ago, reported 3 August 2020. A post in the NZ Herald says;
"UFO over Porirua? Mysterious hovering lights stun locals. Video / Theodora Faafia
It
was in the early hours in Porirua when Theodora Faafia left home and
spotted three lights hovering up in the dark skies above the town.
Faafia
was with her cousin and they both spotted the lights and wondered what
it was. She filmed them on her phone for a few seconds then posted on
the local group, to see if anyone knew what they could be.
"Sooooo
as I was leaving home this morning, we spotted these three big lights
just hovering over Porirua City. Anyone have a clue what it could be?"
she wrote.
A Porirua local says she spotted three "creepy" lights hovering over the town, August 2020
One person in the comments said they saw it too but no one had a definitive theory on what the lights were.
Faafia says she "has no idea" what the lights could be.
"I
just thought it was strange and so did my cousin because it wasn't
plane lights or anything it was just still in the sky," she told the
Herald.
"We didn't hang around as I had to drop my cousin off to
town for work so we just continued to drive and kept watching it as we
drove till it was out of our sight. By the time we got back to Porirua
it was daylight."
UPDATE
Reddit users have identified the exact location and have matched the video with google earth images. It would appear that the "hill" in the video is actually the roof of a house, and there is a larger hill behind which looks like sky in the video. There is a track traversing the hill, so it is likely the lights are just lights from a vehicle traveling up or down the hill track.
A weird video purporting to show a bright diamond-shaped object moving in the air above some farm storage silos has been provided to MUFON. The alleged event took place at a remote farmstead Williston, North Dakota, USA on April 5, 2021.
The owner of the video states "object was caught by motion detection on ptz camera mounted on top of
structure out at remote unoccupied farmstead
object moved from north to south - unclear how far away - next motion
event was daylight, you can see the grain bins in background
there were 2 dead cows found in tree row less than a mile away - no
obvious cause of death, covered in mud.
no farms with cows around for 10 miles, no reported missing cows from
nearby farms
never seen anything like this out there on the cameras"
Analysis
This is a very strange video - the movement of the object just doesn't look right: its very smooth and follows a very straight track, almost like a sprite on an early video game.
The object would appear to be shining brightly, and yet the light from it does not appear to illuminate any of the trees, buildings or ground around it. If it were a real bright object, surely it would.
If we superimpose a still from early in the video of the object with that of a daylight still, we can see that the time/date stamp and the dark silo shapes match up.
Conclusion - object just doesn't look right, but lets say unknown
According to a report from a local new site "Derbyshire Times" a local resident has been left perplexed after seeing the mysterious bright object – which was said to be stationary at first but then shot off at ‘incredible and breathtaking’ speed.
The witness says “It's difficult to say how high, far away or how big it was. I recorded the object on my smartphone, set to full zoom, for just over one minute. I
have no idea what I saw and I would not like to speculate, apart from
to say it was a very unusual looking object – one like I have never seen
before."
“All I can say
is the thing was a bright, circular, reddish, peachy-coloured object,
with a brighter red glow around the outside of it.
“It
was silent and remained stationary the whole time I saw it – until it
shot off high up into the sky at incredible and breathtaking speed and
was gone in less than a second.
“The speed at which it shot off at was simply too fast for it to be any kind of conventional aircraft or object.”
The sky over Matlock on the 27 February night was clear, and it would be possible to observe the heavens.
According to Stellarium the planet Mars would have been large and bright low down to the west. The planet would look like a large red fuzzy ball on a smartphone - just as we see here.
The planet Mars cannot move rapidly so how do we explain the movement in the video? We could suggest the witness simply tilted their camera downwards resulting in the object "shooting" upwards.
Conclusion - Witness trying to make out the planet Mars is a UFO
A truck driver was traveling West on I-84, Portland, Oregon, March 2021 when he spots and records a string of lights moving above in an arc or v-shaped formation.
Whether they are separate lights or a single object is unknown. There is no more information.
Analysis
Portland is the home of the The 142nd Wing Air National Guard Flying F-15 fighters. It is possible an F-15 on a night-time training flight released some flares whist banking, producing a curved string of lights.
A mysterious fireball caught on video floating through the night sky near Peachland North Carolina USA sparked a blaze Tuesday night, 16 March 2021.
Local resident Jay Balehowsky said he was taking his garbage out when he noticed a bright object glowing in the sky.
“It seemed like it was kind of circling around,” he said.
Balehowsky started videoing the object. At that point, he said he thought it was maybe a drone.
“But then we saw it break up, and it started flying towards us,” he said. “We saw the rest of it burn out and then one piece basically fell down into the neighbour’s yard. At that point, it had grown, and it was a fairly fast-moving fire given the time of night and the time of year.”
The blaze rapidly spread towards a couple of structures, and the heat melted some of the vinyl siding on a house, Craig said.
Nobody was injured, he added.
Craig said residents in the area didn’t even initially realize that there was a fire right below their house.
“It wasn’t until the fire trucks started showing up,” he said.
The fire chief noted that he isn’t a scientist, but he isn’t convinced that the unidentified object was a meteor. “I don’t think rocks remain combustible too long,” he said. “It doesn’t seem like a hot rock would cause a fire like that.”
“The rocks show the flame because they’re coming through the atmosphere with friction,” he said. “Once they stop moving, they don’t support combustion.”
The fire department plans to go back to the site on Wednesday and see if they can find anything in daylight.
“To be honest, if I didn’t see the video, I’d be very skeptical,” he said. “My initial reaction would have been fireworks or something along those lines. But given the altitude the object came from, it couldn’t have been fireworks or even a flare".
“The video clearly shows something at a high, high altitude that fell from the sky,” Craig said. I’ve been in the service now going on 22 years, and this is absolutely a first for me.”
Balehowsky said the video was shot on a phone, and it doesn’t fully show the glow and brightness of the fireball.
Although the cause of the fire has not been verified, Craig doesn’t believe it’s suspicious.
“There’s a lot to be learned from this fire,” he said. “It really highlights the importance of fire-smarting your property and making sure that you have no combustible vegetation or debris between zero and 1.5 metres out from your house.”
According to the Indian news site, VTV, a man named Digvijay Singh from Sabalwad village of Idar in Sabarkantha, Himmatnagar, Gujarat captured an image of a blue UFO object whilst testing a mobile phone.
In the image there are also two "smokey" foreground objects, each having three distinct areas where the "smoke" appears to come from. Apparently, the "Smokey" objects could not be seen with the naked eye.
A witness has reported to MUFON a very bright orange light in the sky over Oceanside, California USA, 3 March 2021
The witness says "Very bright orange light appeared and hovered for a few minutes and
would disappear and reappear. this would repeat several times and lasted
approximately 20 minutes. no sound and the light appeared to pulsate. i
have video of this."
A truly mysterious series of lights were seen by people in the Las Vegas valley earlier this week.
The lights, as seen in several videos and photographs, appeared over Las Vegas around 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 1. People on different sides of the city have reported seeing them.
In the video and pictures you can clearly see four to eight lights. While hard to tell, most of the lights appear to be floating without much movement.
One witness, Melanie Smith who lives on the fourth floor of a building a couple miles south of the Las Vegas Strip, says "I saw the lights appear twice between 7:30 and 8:30" and she recorded some videos.
In her first video she is recording looking north. You can see seven lights
at first. Four grouped together to the left of her view (west), another
light is seen lower than the others, and two more to the right.
In her second video she notices an eighth light that appears only for
a few seconds, but as she says in the recording it looks like it was on
fire.
In another video posted to Twitter, the person who recorded this video
writes "it looked like the lights were over Circa in downtown Las Vegas"
Another witness Stephen Demeter took three photographs from the
far southern part of the valley. He wrote, “We took these pics last
night around 8:00 pm (Monday). We are in the Club at Madeira Canyon and
look north to the airport and the strip.”
Analysis
Nellis Air Force Base is on the far side of
the large mountain peak approximately 15 miles away. There have been
several comments online that the lights were military flares from Nellis
jets.
According to a USA radio station WKDQ, two listeners reported the same incident on the same night form different locations. On 25 February, a listener reported seeing strange lights in the skies over Evansville, Indiana.
Then on 3 March, another listener "Erica " from Louisville Kentucky, came forward as seeing the same lightsafter hearing the report. She has also some video of the object.
A bright red light object has been videoed hovering above Hanoi, Vietnam, on 11 Feb 2021.
In the video, the bright red light gradually fades away. There is no more information and the video cannot be verified.
Analysis
This could possibly be a red signal flare, the object does float towards the ground before going out. However, the object does show some similarities with the red object spotted over Capolona, Italy 25 Jan 2021

A video shared by a Facebook user who goes by the name Jae
Luna claims to herald the return of the Phoenix Lights.
The video apparently shot fromGlendale, Arizona on February 09
shows multiple flying objects in the night skies. Interestingly, the
unidentified flying objects (UFO) spotted in the skies apparently had the shape of a
triangle (although this cannot be discerned from the video), and it has made several people believe that the infamous
Phoenix Lights have returned.
"Phoenix lights 2.0 UFOs in Arizona!I experienced some UFOs tonight.
They seemed to be traveling between dimensions in my opinion," says Jae
Luna.
In the initial moments of the video, two illuminated flying
objects can be seen in the skies, but soon, one object disappeared
shocking Luna who was capturing the video using his smartphone. After
some seconds, the second UFO also disappeared from the skies.
Analysis
Luna states himself that he can hear jet engines from a nearby airbase. Could the lights not be from those? Landing lights are very bright, and can seem to fade out when the aircraft does a 90° turn away from the viewing point. Aircraft performing circuits will follow the same flight path, so landing lights may appear to come on and then fade out as the aircraft goes about its path. Its a shame the objects are so out-of-focus in the video as they just appear as bright blobs, without any real detail.
What were the Phoenix Lights?
The
Phoenix Lights event happened on March 13, 1997, when several
unidentified flying objects were spotted in the skies over the U.S.
states of Arizona, Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora. Even though
the US military has classified these flying objects as military flares,
conspiracy theorists strongly believe that these UFOs could be most
probably space ships developed by aliens.
“What are those lights?” the Evansville police officer said as he stared
at the sky above the Southeast Side of Evansville Monday night. “What are those, man?”. He and his partner were parked near the intersection of Governor Street
and Sweetser Avenue when they spotted a string of blinking white lights.
On Tuesday, spokesman Sgt. Nick Winsett said " the EPD had yet to
figure out the origin. And Leslie Fella, director of marketing and air
service for Evansville Regional Airport, was shocked to see the lights
when I sent her a link to D’mechi’s video. EVV hadn’t been notified of
any special aircraft traversing the skies on Monday."
“Oh wow, very
interesting (and strange!) indeed!” she said via email after seeing the
footage. “This is the first that I’ve heard or seen of it, and no, we
aren’t aware of anything in the area. Although, unless commercial, we
aren’t always made aware
Scott Air Force Base in Western
Illinois couldn't provide any answers, either. When called on Tuesday,
officials in both public affairs and base operations had no knowledge
of an air exercise that could have produced the lights. A request for
comment from Fort Campbell in Kentucky wasn’t returned.
Analysis
A line of helicopters or drones, each with their navigation lights flashing randomly would produce a similar spectacle. It is a shame we do not know what happened to the objects after the video stopped!
A witness from Capolona in the province of Arezzo, Italy, was struck by an
alleged object of medium / large proportions that emitted a strong red
light, as reported by "Medditernews".
The email received by the Italian alien research association
(ARIA) was taken over directly by the president and ufologist Angelo
Maggioni who immediately involved other experts, former marshal of AMI (Italian Air Force) Iannitti and former B.re dei carabinieri Cavaliere Manzoni, for a verification
of the reliability of the video.
"The video turned out to be
genuine, not artifact or manipulated in CGI" the investigators say." The witness reported that she had not heard any type of noise. A daytime video photos identifed the lights below the object as belonging to a neighboring village Casavecchia. Following a check, there was no local events or celebrations taking place at that time in the village that might explain the light".
A number of man-made objects have been discounted say the investigators; "a Chinese
lantern has a characteristic that is always observable when in
operation, namely the two different shades that characterize it, pink /
yellow at the bottom and intense red at the top, even a possible signal
rocket was not compatible with the comparison. Airliners, hot-air
balloons, sounding balloons, drones, birds, satellites etc. are excluded
from the cases."
Glaswegians have been left baffled by the sight of strange beams of light in the sky.The mystery orange lights were spotted appearing in the cloudy sky by a number of residents across the city.
Angie Lang noticed the lights in the Firhill area looking northward around 11:20pm last night. She says the lights were a "teensy bit aurora-like".
A strange video has been uploaded showing a dark diamond shaped object just sitting, stationary in the sky over Bogota, Colombia On Dec 31, 2020. The object does not appear to be solid, and could just be a diamond shaped gap in the clouds.
A video has appeared showing three triangular lights in the sky , then another grouping of the lights appear. All we know is that this video was taken over New Jersey and was uploaded on 8 Jan 2021.
Mika Ryan Tattoo has posted a video showing several bright, twinkling objects fly over Melbourne, Australia on 31 December 2020. "We were watching local fire works near our house and these strange lights just appeared in the sky the second the clock hit midnight"
New Years eve, just after midnight!!! Possibly just Chinese lanterns let off to celebrate?
An unidentified flying object spotted in the evening sky over Leeward Oahu prompted witnesses to call 911 on Tuesday. The sighting happened about 8:30 p.m.
There are multiple videos of what appears to be a glowing‚ oblong mass — both in the sky and in the water.
Officials
from the Federal Aviation Administration say there were no aircraft
incidents or accidents in this area at the time. But multiple witnesses
reported seeing a large blue object fall out of the sky and into the
ocean.
In a one video a woman can be heard saying, “Something is in the sky. What is that?” Misitina Sape captured the image at 8:26 p.m. near Haleakala Avenue in Nanakuli. Not long after, a woman named Moriah spotted what looked like the same object passing over Princess Kahanu Estates.
“I
look up and then I was like oh s***!,” she said. “I started calling my
husband and them because they were all in the garage. I was like hey.
Come look up there. See if you see what I see. They all said yea!”
The
38-year-old says she’s never really been a believer in UFOs, but the
bright blue object had them so intrigued they jumped in the car and
started following it.
“I don’t know what it was,” she said. “This one was going so fast.”
The
journey ended less than three miles from where it began. She says they
stopped the car on Farrington Highway in front of the Board of Water
Supply building after the object appeared to drop into the ocean.
In one of Moriah’s videos you can hear her say, “(It) went land in the water. Whatever it is.” She described it as being larger than a telephone pole and says she never heard it make any sound.
“We called 911,” Moriah said, “For have like one cop or somebody for come out and come check em out.”
While officers were on scene Moriah says they spotted a second light.
“My
husband went look up and he seen the white one coming,” she said. “The
white one was smaller. Was coming in the same direction as the blue
one.”
They lost sight of the object after it passed over a nearby mountain.
An FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor said the agency received a report from
police Tuesday night about a possible plane down in the area “but had no
aircraft disappear off radars. And no reports of overdue or missing
aircraft.”
Although Moriah’s had a couple days to think about it, she says she’s still baffled by what she saw.
“To this day I don’t know,” she said laughing. “If you guys can find out what it was, I like know, you know?”
