String of bright lights over Chile

A video has been posted recently showing a string of lights apparently hovering in the sky over Chile.

Image showing a UFO over chile

The video was taken by the Gollitos Family on 22 November 2020 but exactly where  the video was taken is not known. This could be a number of separate smaller objects in a formation or a single large object that contains lights in it's structure. The video is reminiscent of the well-known "Phoenix Lights" sighting.

Analysis

In order to determine whether the object(s) move during the video, image snapshots from the video were taken at 7 seconds, 12 seconds, 25 seconds and 40 seconds intervals and the images superimposed such that the building and foreground line up.

As we can see, the lights do not appear to move, they are static (at least for the duration of the video). It would be likely that flares would drift over that time and their position would change. Therefore we can say these are not flares or Chinese lanterns.

There does not appear to be any stars in the video so either they are too dim to show or the sky was cloudy, obscuring them. This suggests the lights are either very much brighter than stars or are low in the sky, beneath the cloud cover.

We do not know if the objects are actually in the sky, or whether there are hills or mountains in the distance that do not appear on the video. If there are mountains, the lights may be from buildings or vehicles, although being in a line grouping like this is usual.

Conclusion - unknown

Bright Stationery Object over Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan

Recently posted on YouTube is a video showing a bright stationery object over Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan, dated 15 November 2020.

There is not enough resolution in the video to discern any detail the object.

Analysis

Being stationery, the object cannot be a balloon or aircraft, and even a helicopter would show some movement in the video. It is not known what time of day the video was taken, but judging by the shadows in the video, it is likely late afternoon, with the sun low in the sky. A look at Stellarium shows that the planet Jupiter would have been visible to the South later afternoon, being very bright at the moment.

However, the Sun is setting in the south-west, and looking south would have resulted in the building walls facing the video camera being in shadow - they are not. Looking East, there is the planet Mars, also bright at this time, but not as bright as Jupiter, and it has a distinctly red tint to it, which the object in the video has not.

Conclusion - Inconclusive

Strange white "ring cloud" above Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, China - SOLVED

The incident took place a week ago in Shangrao of Jiangxi Province in China. In the video, we can see a mysterious ring cloud hovering above the spot that has left the residents baffled. The strangely shaped cloud appeared in the sky last week, but the video has only surfaced now.

The short clip shows orange-hued cloud floating in the sky above a village at Shaoyang town, Shangrao. The round cloud looked like a flame burning and it remained in the sky for at least 8-10 minutes.

Many villagers believed that the mysterious phenomenon is nothing but a UFO hovering above, although a smoke cloud from an earthly explosion of some sort is a more reasonable explanation.

Analysis

Smoke rings are a commonly seen result of small explosions that can arise when you have a blast through a circular structure like a smokestack.

Conclusion - Explosion

Bright disc UFO near Stonehenge, UK - SOLVED

A mysterious video that shows a UFO flying towards Stonehenge has recently come to light. The video was apparently shot by Tash Minto and her partner Tony Waterhouse were driving on the A303 just outside Mere, Wiltshire on October 31, 2020.

The UFO was a flat circular disc of white light, and Tash soon took out her phone and filmed the creepy sighting. The eyewitness duo also revealed that the mysterious flying object was hovering towards the direction of Stonehenge.

Tash revealed that the unknown flying object just disappeared from their eyesight without any traces of its presence.

 Analysis

Assuming the video is genuine, we must ask why no-one else reported this sighting - there are plenty of other vehicles on the road.

The video states the location as the A303 traveling from Wincanton to Mere - this is West to East, so the video would be taken from a vehicle traveling almost exactly east. A check of Stellarium at around 5:00pm on 31 October 2020 shows a full moon, low down in the sky almost directly East.

Conclusion - video shows the moon, probably through a gap in the cloud.

Strange 'stretched circle’ jellyfish spotted over Norfolk skies?

Kevin Folan, 64, was driving through Oxborough towards Downham Market at around sunset, when he sighted a “strange, stretched circle in the sky”.

Mr Folan said he pulled over to the side of the road to look at it properly, and took several photos.

“It was very slowly moving with the wind it seemed, from the west,” Mr Folan said.

“It was very dark but the clouds in the sky were light. It wasn’t a cloud.”

Mr Folan watched the object “kind of infinitesimally changing shape” for ten minutes, and posted the pictures into his family’s WhatsApp group.

One of Mr Folan’s nieces suggested it could be a flock of starlings.

“If I had to bet on anything,” he said, “I’d say it would be birds, but I’ve seen murmurations up close and this was a long way off, so there would have needed to be thousands of them to maintain that shape and density.”

Another suggestion is that it was a damaged weather balloon.

UFO almost collides with passenger jet on approach to UK airport

A terrifying new report has revealed that a Boeing 737 passenger jet came seconds from disaster during a close call with an unidentified flying object as the plane was preparing to land at a UK airport.

The just-released report into the incident, which took place on September 1 at Leeds Bradford airport, reveals that an unknown, luminous object came within three metres (10 feet) of the plane as it prepared to touch down.

The ‘Category A’ event was only just confirmed by the UK Airprox Board, a near-miss monitoring agency.

“Both pilots suddenly saw a bright light and an object which appeared to be moving toward the aircraft, almost head on, slightly up and to the left,” the report details.

“The object appeared without warning and there was no time to act.”

A police helicopter had witnessed lanterns in the area, however “Neither of the pilots believed what they saw was a lantern,” according to the air safety board.

“A definite risk of collision had existed,” the report continues, but the quick-thinking pilots managed to safely avert disaster.

Another near-collision event occurred just three days prior, when a drone came within three feet of an Airbus A320 passenger jet with 186 passengers on board some 8,000ft above Manchester Airport, flying 20 times above the legal limit for privately-owned drones.

The agency confirmed 400 such incidents have been reported in the past five years.

UFO seen over east York baffles resident

A UFO has been spotted high in the sky over York by a baffled local resident.

David Munley, of Derwenthorpe, in eastern York, says he had gone out for a walk at about 9am last Friday morning when he spotted the strange object in the sky.

"It came over the top of the houses and went over the fields," he said.

"It was silent and traveled a considerable distance.

"It was not an erratic flight, it was smooth. I have absolutely no idea what it was.

"I thought at first it might be a microlight but it was silent.

"It definitely wasn't a drone or a plane. It was rectangular in shape."

His wife Barbara said there was 'no one more skeptical than David,' adding: "It wasn't a drone, as one or two people have suggested. It moved in complete silence across the sky. Did anyone else in York see something strange in the sky?

Mysterious lights 'changing formation' over Dallas

Mesmerising footage shows a series of glowing lights hovering above Texas sparking fears of a possible UFO.

The mysterious lights were spotted changing formation in the night sky over three separate counties across an 80-mile radius.

Stargazers in and around Dallas chimed in with sightings after footage of the bizarre presence over Duncanville, in the south of the city, was shared online.

A flurry of witnesses came forward to claim sightings from multiple sites, with some convinced the lights were caused by visiting aliens.

Retail manager Javier Estrada III, who filmed the footage, said: "What I saw mesmerised me. I was visiting family for my grandma's birthday and happened to look up.

"I saw glowing lights hovering real slow and that's when I knew it was something out of the ordinary - not scary, just crazy to look at.

"I do believe in extraterrestrials so the first thing that came to mind was a UFO. As soon as I saw it, I was starstruck - it seemed so real.

"I wouldn't mind having aliens come to visit but knowing us in the USA we will probably attack them first."

In Javier's video, four lights are visible in the starry sky, shifting from a kite-like formation to a square one, before drifting apart and out of view.

Two more lights then come into view before the clip ends. They could have been drones.

Sightings were reported from a total eight different areas in and around the city, mainly towards the south, with many describing the lights as forming a "straight line."

Onlookers also reported the phenomenon in Allen, to the north of the city, and Granbury, to the southwest - which are separated by a distance that would take nearly two hours to drive.

And with more than 16,000 people seeing the footage, there were plenty of suggestions as to what the lights could be.

Some suggested the display was caused by drones or Chinese lanterns, but nobody ventured an explanation as to how they were spotted in places so far apart.

Others speculated satellites or weather balloons, though nobody offered any tracking data.

Mysterious UFO Lights Over Houston

Occurred on June 24, 2020 / Cypress, Texas, USA Info from Licensor:

I walked outside my backyard and saw these lights. They literally just disappeared in front of my eyes! Let me say this so people can understand what I saw because I did not have the chance to explain on video what was going on. I was a bit startled at first. They definitely were not drones, I had a friend see the exact same thing at the exact same time as me and they live 30 minutes from me. They were not airplanes, the huge red lights stayed stationary as the little lights which did not get picked up on camera, they zig-zagged around and then would attach themselves to the bigger light, and then that light would disappear. One by one, each huge red light collected the little lights, and then the huge red light would disappear. Each one went out on its own almost as if it had gathered the other lights. And they definitely were NOT Chinese lanterns. I first thought that but when I realized they were not moving and staying still I knew they were not Chinese lanterns. I’ve seen Chinese lanterns in the sky and they keep on moving with the wind until you can’t see them anymore. Besides, these lights were way too bright and way too big and high in the sky. And a friend also reported to me there were calls going off on the scanner of mysterious lights being seen in Sugarland. My video gives this wonderful moment no justice!
